Taksonomi adalah sains bagi pengelasan objek atau konsep berdasarkan ciri-ciri dan hubungan mereka dengan satu sama lain. Di EIS, kami memberi tumpuan kepada taksonomi kemahiran, pekerjaan, kelayakan, dan kompetensi.
MSOC: Taksonomi Lokal Kami
Taksonomi kami dikenali sebagai Kemahiran, Pekerjaan, Kelayakan, dan Kompetensi Malaysia (MSOC).
MSOC mengklasifikasikan:

Memahami Klasifikasi Pekerjaan dan Tahap Pendidikan
- Maklumat di bawah merupakan panduan bagi klasifikasi pekerjaan mengikut tahap pendidikan dan tahap gaji median. Ia akan membantu dalam memahami faktor-faktor seperti jurang kemahiran, perbezaan dalam tahap pendidikan yang diperlukan, dan bidang pengajian yang tidak sesuai yang membawa kepada ketidaksepadanan pekerjaan.
- Individu perlu memiliki sekurang-kurangnya diploma, ijazah sarjana muda, atau ijazah pasca-sarjana untuk memasuki mana-mana daripada kategori pekerjaan teratas iaitu Pengurus, Profesional, dan Juruteknik dan Profesional Bersekutu (Eksekutif).
- Individu yang bekerja dalam kategori pekerjaan 4000 hingga 8000 perlu memiliki sekurang-kurangnya kelayakan bukan ijazah contohnya SPM atau STPM. Pekerja Asas (kumpulan 9000) tidak memerlukan sebarang kelayakan pendidikan.
- Gaji median untuk setiap kategori pekerjaan ditunjukkan dalam kolum terkanan.
- Gaji minimum untuk semua kategori pekerjaan adalah RM1,500.
- Lawati ESCO untuk maklumat lanjut berkenaan klasifikasi pekerjaan.

- NER merujuk kepada Kajian Imbangan Pekerjaan Kebangsaan 2018 yang dijalankan oleh ILMIA dan KSM.
- EIS merujuk kepada data Kehilangan Pekerjaan 2018 yang dikumpulkan oleh Sistem Insurans Pekerjaan (EIS) PERKESO.
- DOSM merujuk kepada Laporan Kajian Gaji dan Upah 2018 oleh Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia (DOSM).
